A corpus-based approach to author’s idiolect study: lexicological aspect

The aim of this paper is to present the application of a multimodal approach to the analysis of the writer’s lexicon. The versatility of the anthropocentric paradigm of modern linguistics and the approaches applied in our research are mindful of the choice of relevant research methods. The features of a writer’s lexicon (or idiolect in a broader sense) have been of great interest among scholars though they have been mostly explored by literary critics. Nowadays, more linguists are also interested in thorough research on the subject by applying more rigorous scientific methods like quantitative and statistical ones. The paper herewith focuses on a few of them as a preliminary attempt to showcase some results. The primary concern is to make this study corpus-based. Hence it is crucial to create a corpus of works based on the generally acknowledged rules and principles. Therefore, such a corpus may contribute to the development of corpus linguistics and be applicable to other research regarding studying the writer’s idiolect. Another point of interest is that such research may either support or somehow disprove established views regarding the writing style of a certain author (that is very useful when considering author attribution issues or even forensic linguistics, though that is not the case of the given research). Finally, lexical semantics plays one of the leading roles in defining dominant concepts of an author’s writing style corresponding to the cognitive linguistics domain. As a result of such an approach, it may help to construct the lexicon of the author into an ideographic entity. Furthermore, similar findings or comparative analysis of corresponding objects of study may contribute to displaying the author’s outlook and subsequently that of the whole nation.Метою цієї статті є представити застосування мультимодального підходу до аналіз лексикону письменника. Багатогранність антропоцентричної парадигми сучасна лінгвістика та підходи, застосовані в нашому дослідженні, враховують вибір відповідних методів дослідження. Особливості лексики письменника (або ідіолекту в а у широкому сенсі) викликали великий інтерес серед вчених, хоча вони були здебільшого досліджується літературознавцями. Нині цим цікавиться також більше лінгвістів ретельне дослідження цього питання із застосуванням більш суворих наукових методів, як-от кількісні та статистичні. У цьому документі зосереджено увагу на кількох із них, як a попередня спроба продемонструвати деякі результати. Основна турбота полягає в тому, щоб зробити це дослідження на корпусній основі. Тому надзвичайно важливо створити корпус творів на основі загальновизнані правила і принципи. Тому такий корпус може сприяти до розвитку корпусної лінгвістики та бути застосовним до інших досліджень щодо вивчення ідіолекту письменника. Іншим цікавим моментом є те, що такі дослідження можуть підтримувати або якимось чином спростовувати усталені погляди щодо стилю написання a певного автора (це дуже корисно під час розгляду проблем із зазначенням авторства або навіть судова лінгвістика, хоча це не стосується даного дослідження). Нарешті, лексичний семантика відіграє одну з провідних ролей у визначенні домінантних понять автора стиль письма, що відповідає галузі когнітивної лінгвістики. В результаті такого підхід, це може допомогти сконструювати лексикон автора в ідеографічну сутність. Крім того, подібні знахідки або порівняльний аналіз відповідних об'єктів дослідження може сприяти відображенню світогляду автора, а згодом і світогляду весь народ.

The work is devoted to the improvement of the organization of educational and outreach activities of physical education and sports institutions to attract disabled people to physical education and sports activities. The following research methods were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, documentary method, method of system analysis, sociological methods (content analysis, questionnaires), modelling method, method of expert evaluation, methods of mathematical statistics. The peculiarities of planning, content and quantitative indicators of educational and outreach activities in the work of organizations in the sphere of physical education and sport are determined. The role of the mass media in engaging people with disabilities in physical education and sports activities and the level of physical education of the disabled and ways of their involvement in motor activity are determined. The influence of educational and outreach activities of the organizations in the sphere of physical education and sports on the process of engaging of the disabled in physical education and sports classes is studied. The effectiveness of the proposed model and the need to intensify educational work aimed at convince disabled people in the need for physical education and sports training are proved.

Group exercises are the most difficult type of competitive gymnastics program because they differ from an individual ones by a number of specific features such as longer, more complex and dynamic composition that is simultaneously performed by five gymnasts; a variety of athletes’ movement interactions; synchronous and asynchronous movements performance done by every team member; using two different forms of hand apparatus and others. Excellent results in group exercises are possible only in terms of maximum consistency of motor actions due to athletes’ compatibility according to the basic parameters of technical and physical fitness. This distinguishes the process of preparing athletes who specialize in individual and group exercise program [1], hence the need to find scientifically grounded approach to the training system.

In this article we analyze the principles of elaboration of the French-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-French dictionary of physical education and sport / PES. In the dictionary, we include the terms to name the sites where a sporting activity takes place; the names of players and sportsmen; medical professions; equipment and accessories; sports; competitions and rules; people and structures that follow these regulations; institutions and organizations; verbs related to sport; techniques and styles; results, procedures and reactions; sports medicine terminology. The practical results will improve the possibilities of teaching French for students of physical education and sport, and for those who want to learn French for specific purposes (PES). У цій статті ми аналізуємо принципи розробки франко-української та Українсько-французький словник з фізичного виховання і спорту / ПЕС. У словнику, ми включаємо терміни для назви місць, де відбувається спортивна діяльність; імена гравців і спортсменів; медичні професії; обладнання та аксесуари; спорт; змагання та правила; люди та структури, які дотримуються цих правил; установи та організації; дієслова, пов’язані зі спортом; техніки та стилі; результати, процедури та реакції; термінологія спортивної медицини. Практичні результати будуть покращити можливості викладання французької мови для студентів фізичного виховання та спорту, а також для тих, хто хоче вивчати французьку мову для спеціальних цілей (PES).
