    Origin of sport orienteering has been considered, as well as general characteristics of competitive activities and processes of its energy maintenance. Known methods of endurance development, technical and tactical skills have been generalized, optimal ratio of physical and technical training of orienteering sportsmen of different qualification has been presented. Essential influence of psycho-physiological qualities of sportsmen upon the competition result has been found, investigation of model characteristics of psycho-physiological reactions for improvement of method of orienteering sportsmen training has been proposed.
