Abstract
In an interesting and accessible way, the book tells the history of our state from the time of Herodotus to the events in the eastern Ukraine today. This influential publication will help to better understand events of the past, and through them – our present. The author focuses on Ukrainians as the largest demographic group, and then – on the key force that was the basis for creation of the modern nation. Find out how our ancestors “called Vikings to reign”, how our country fought for the right to be independent, went through the times of serfdom, communist terror and Holodomor famine, the Second World War, and eventually gained independence.
