Становлення та розвиток змагань з баскетболу в Італії

Abstract

Питання розвитку професійного баскетболу неодноразово ставали предметом наукового обговорення фахівців, проте здебільшого вони зосереджені на вивчення проблематики північноамериканського професійного баскетболу. Значно менше інформації можна знайти з питань розвитку змагань та баскетболу загалом у Європі. Хоча це становить суттєвий та системно відмінний сегмент розвитку баскетболу у світі. Мета: проаналізувати та узагальнити еволюцію змагань з баскетболу в Італії. Дослідження проводилося на основі вивчення наукових та науково-популярних джерел інформації. Важливі дані були почерпнуті з сучасних журналів, котрі індексуються у науко-метричній базі Scopus. Ключовими словами для пошуку у базах були: професійний баскетбол, баскетбольні клуби, історія, системи змагань. Обрані для аналізу матеріали стосувалися формування та розвитку системи змагань з баскетболу, як в історичному контексті, так і по відношенню до сучасного етапу. Розвиток баскетболу в Італії вказує на лідируючі позиції команд та організаційного підходу до формування системи змагань. Сьогодні вона має виражені ознаки професійного спроту. Водночас першим кроком було створення Ліга Баскет Серії А (Italy's Lega Basket Serie A; LBA) у 1920 році. Вже у подальшому (сезон 1936/37 років) появи у структурі італійського баскетболу другого рівня – Серія Б. Проте позиції Серії Б були зміщені внаслідок появи Серії А2, яка була організована у 1974 році і стала другим рівнем в структурі ліг. Сучасний вигляд змагання з баскетболу в Італії набули починаючи з 2014 року. Структура італійського баскетболу отримала три рівні – Серія А1, Серія А2 та Серія Б з визначеними правилами ротації команд в залежності від їх результатів у конкретному сезоні. Загальна кількість команд, що грали в Серії А становить 99 команд, сімнадцять з яких ставали чемпіонами. Станом на сьогодні у Серії А грають 16 команд та лише одна команда за підсумками сезоні вилітає до нижчого дивізіону. Варто зазначити, що Lega Basket Serie A вважається третьою за елітністю баскетбольною лігою у світі після Національної баскетбольної асоціації (NBA) та іспанської ліги ACB. Багатьом італійським командам свого часу вдалося укласти контракти з кращими спортсменами світового баскетболу серед яких Майк Д'Антоні, Тоні Кукоч, Карлтон Майерс, Ману Джінобілі, Джанлука Базіле та інші. Італійські баскетбольні команди також домінували в континентальних чемпіонатах (змагання Euroleagua – понад 10 разів). The issues of professional basketball development have been the subject of scientific discussion by experts on several occasions, but they are primarily focused on studying North American professional basketball. Much less information can be found on the development of competitions and basketball in general in Europe. However, this is a significant and systematically different segment of basketball development worldwide. Objective: to analyze and summarize the evolution of basketball competitions in Italy, focusing on the pivotal role of the Lega Basket Serie A. The research was based on studying scientific and popular science sources of information, and they were indexed in the Scopus scientific and metric database. The keywords for the search in the databases were professional basketball, basketball clubs, history, and competition systems. The materials selected for analysis concerned the formation and development of the basketball competition system in historical and current contexts. The basketball development in Italy indicates the leading positions of teams and the organizational approach to forming the competition system. Today, it has pronounced signs of professionalism. The first step was the creation of Italy's Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) in 1920, a milestone that marked the beginning of a new era in Italian basketball. Later (1936/37 season), the second level of Italian basketball - Series B - appeared in the structure of Italian basketball. However, the position of Series B was shifted due to the emergence of Series A2, which was organized in 1974 and became the second level in the structure of leagues. Basketball competitions in Italy have acquired a modern look since 2014. Italian basketball was divided into three levels - Series A1, Series A2, and Series B with specific rules for rotating teams depending on their results in a particular season. The total number of teams that played in Serie A is 99, seventeen of which became champions. Currently, 16 teams play in Serie A, and only one team is relegated to a lower division at the end of the season. It is worth noting that Lega Basket Serie A is considered the third most elite basketball league in the world after the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Spanish ACB league. Many Italian teams have contracts with the best athletes in world basketball, including Mike D'Antoni, Tony Kukoc, Carlton Myers, Manu Ginobili, Gianluca Basile, and others. Italian basketball teams have also dominated continental championships (Euroleague competitions - more than ten times).
